BIOGRAPHICAL
STATEMENT OF STUART HAMPLE
(Written by himself in the 3rd person)
Stuart Hample, self-described Multi-Media Failure, has written
plays, TV shows, the occasional magazine piece, three screenplays
(unproduced), over 20 books (some of which he also illustrated),
and for 8 interesting years
collaborated with Woody Allen on the syndicated comic strip, INSIDE
WOODY ALLEN. He was a writer on the CBS series KATE & ALLIE
as well as for THE COMEDY ZONE,
produced by The Nederlanders. "HAPPY CAT DAY was issued in
Spring, 2004, and featured in mid-August at the World's First
Annual Cat Day Celebration at a Border's Store in Costa Mesa,
California, along with a cat adoption event and a cat photo contest
for pet owners. In August, 2005, the 2nd Annual Cat Day Celebration
took place at North Shore Animal League America in Port Washington,
New York, the largest adoption and rescue organization in the
world. 2006 will see publication of 2 new Stoo Hample picture
books for young children; in Spring, I WILL KISS YOU LOTS &
LOTS & LOTS, and in the autumn (around the time of the 3rd
Annual Cat Day), STOO HAMPLE'S BOOK OF BAD MANNERS."
He has, with two songwriters, adapted CHILDREN'S LETTERS TO
GOD, his internationally bestselling book, into a musical, which
played for 6 months off-Broadway in New York City at The Lamb’s
Theatre, and is now on tour throughout the U.S. and in such foreign
places as Johannesburg, Soeul, Kuala Lumpur, Manilla and Singapore.
As a performer he was a regular on CAPTAIN KANGAROO, appearing
as Mr.
Artist. He has also been a guest on OPRAH and THE TONIGHT SHOW.
